06/24/2002 Entry: "Out of the frying pan and into the cooler - aka 62 hours"

Hello again,
Since the last update we have departed Limerick for the Dingle Peninsula, with a stop on the way in Tralee to smell the roses and to photograph the pub in which U2 used to have to sweep the floor! We continued to Dingle Town, which we explored before having a hearty lunch - perfect for the drizzly, windy weather. We spent the night in Dingle and continued (through mountain passes and by ferry) to the beach town of Lahinch, where we had an amazing dinner of Irish stew, and stayed last night in a central hostel. Today we drove (with a stop at the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher) between the ocean and the ageless landscape of the Burren to Galway, where we have just enjoyed some local catch in the form of fish and chips. From here we will head through the Connemara Peninsula to the northern town of Sligo before heading back to Dublin, and Canada.
Ireland has been everything we had hoped to see (though a little more expensive even than we had braced ourselves for), and we are now on our last roll of film! As our trip winds down we find we are glad to be able to speak English again for a short while - as long as I can remember to drive on the right when we get back!

I've been taking a bit of a break here at work to catch up on all your adventures... sounds like you've had a fabulous trip. I can't wait to see your pictures! Enjoy the last few days, and be sure to stop by and visit me next time you're in Toronto,

Hey you guys... amazing vacation. We received your postcard, that town in Spain is beautiful. Well I just discovered your web-site... cool stuff guys! Anyway, give us a call when you get home (which should be soon), and we'll get together once you two settle down. Why don't you come to our place this time and we can swim and have a bbq or something like that. Talk to you soon.

Another fun filled week! Things are going to look pretty dull back here in the real working world. I talked to Kevin McCann from school, and he grew up north of Dublin-- but still has the neat Irish accent. Be careful for the last few days and we can hardly wait to see you at the airport. Safe trip home!
